About Us

We strive to produce functional Rhodesian Ridgebacks that conform to the AKC Standard & FCI Standard. We only breed from AKC Conformation Champions, as well as Dual Champions (Conformation and Field CH) which have been health screened for Hips, Elbows, Thyroid, CERF (Eyes), Cardiac and DM. Ridgebacks are a versatile hound that were used for a variety of purposes on the farm in Africa.  Today, while most Rhodesian Ridgebacks no longer serve as they did on the farms in Africa, it is important to retain the versatile functionality of the breed in modern times to stay true to the breed. It is this versatility that makes the Ridgeback what it is, different from other breeds and what draws us to them.

Kito (pronounced kee-toh) means Jewel or Precious Child in Swahili.  Kito was my first Ridgeback, a RR/GSD mix that I adopted at 8 weeks old.  It was Kito that sold me on Ridgebacks for life, and it is in his memory that I dedicate this website and our kennel name.  I got second Ridgeback, Trek in late 2004 when he was two years from Susan Ralston.  Xhabbo (means Dream) came to us when she was 9 weeks old in 2006.  She is my first show dog.  She has excelled in both conformation (showing) and performance (lure coursing).  She is multiple BOB/Group placing in conformation.  She is a Dual Champion which means she has both her AKC Conformation Championship and her AKC Field (lure coursing) Championship.  She also went Best in Field at the ASFA Region 1 Invitational.  She is truly a Dream come true!  I cannot thank her breeders, Susan Ralston of Ridge View Ranch and Danielle Sand of Ivy League Ridgebacks for allowing me to have this Awesome Bitch!  Special Thanks to Susan for showing  Xhabbo to her Best of Breed and Group placements.
