I am MaryAnne Draper of Salt Lake City, Utah.   I first learned about Rhodesian Ridgebacks in high school when my dad was considering getting one.  I met my first Rhodesian Ridgeback while I was living in Montana for a short while.  She lived next door to me, and knowing her increased my interest.  I adopted my first Ridgeback, a mix, from the Humane Society of Utah in May of 1996.   I had actually gone in looking for a kitten but ended up leaving with a puppy.   Kito was 8 weeks old.   He was the best dog I had ever had, and even though he was a mix, he was 99.9% Ridgeback.   Who he was sold me on the Ridgeback.   I lost Kito in 2003 to complications with Lymphosarcoma following exploratory surgery.

In December 2004, Trek came into my life.  He was two years old and had been returned to his breeder, Susan Ralston of Ridge View Ranch Rhodesian Ridgebacks.  Trek was just what I needed after losing Kito.  He shares so many of the sweet qualities that Kito had.   

On June 1st 2006, Xhabbo was born.  I waited a long time for her.  She was actually supposed to be a boy but only one boy was born in that litter and he was already promised to the breeder of his grandsire.  Things often turn out for the best anyway and I am very fortunate to have Xhabbo.   She is so adorable.   She has been such a learning experience.   Having her really introduced me to the world of conformation and dog shows.
